Dolphins & sunset
The end of the day is ideal for dolphin watching for two reasons. First, the sea entrances fade away at the end of the day, giving way to a calm sea. This makes it much easier for our observers to detect spouts and fins. The chances of sightings are then almost guaranteed. Second, in the evening, the dolphins are very receptive to ships and willingly come to escort us. You might even be able to witness some acrobatics!
Hoping for clear skies to grace us with a magnificent sunset over the calanques of Cassis and Marseille...
Depending on the whale watching encounters and the time remaining, we will try to reach more distant whale watching areas. These whales, as well as sperm whales, are regularly observed during this cruise.
Accompanied by naturalists and photographers from Découverte du Vivant, we will offer an onboard presentation, as well as talks over the microphone, covering biological aspects of all the species encountered during the trip. La Croix du Sud V is a member of 'High Quality Whale Watching®', guaranteeing sustainable and respectful whale watching.
During each cruise, a free photo report is provided by the professional photographers of Découverte du Vivant. This way, you can fully enjoy the encounters without worrying about the souvenir photo.

GOOD WEATHER CONDITIONS
Good weather guarantees the chances of observing whales and dolphins. It is mainly the strength of the wind and the swell that will allow us to set sail or not. In calm seas, the slightest sign (fin, back, blow) on the surface of the water is visible for miles. However, beyond a force 4 wind, it becomes difficult to make fruitful observations with the foam.
IN CASE OF BAD WEATHER
Cruise confirmation is determined by the weather forecasts issued 24 hours before departure. In the event of cancellation, registered participants will receive an email and a text message. Those who booked on our website will have the option to postpone their reservation or receive a refund (except for gift vouchers) via the link received. Those who booked directly at the dock will be asked to contact us again to postpone their reservation or to come to the dock for a refund (except for gift vouchers).
No refunds will be made for people who did not participate in the booked cruise without a valid reason (medical certificate).
