On board the ship “Croix du Sud V”, set off to meet whales and dolphins from Sanary-sur-Mer .

It is near the large marine trenches, on the edge of the Pelagos Sanctuary , that we can observe the striped dolphin, the bottlenose dolphin, the Risso's dolphin, the long-finned pilot whale, the sperm whale and finally, the second largest animal on the planet: the fin whale, the only resident whale in the Mediterranean.

Accompanied by naturalists and photographers from Découverte du Vivant, we will offer an onboard presentation, as well as talks over the microphone, covering biological aspects of all the species encountered during the trip. La Croix du Sud V is a member of 'High Quality Whale Watching®', guaranteeing sustainable and respectful whale watching.

During this cruise, you will have the opportunity to observe other representatives of marine fauna: seabirds, sunfish, loggerhead turtles, bluefin tuna, swordfish, rays, etc.

For each cruise, a free picture report is provided by the naturalists of Découverte du Vivant.

GOOD WEATHER CONDITIONS

Good weather guarantees the chance to observe whales and dolphins. More than clear skies, it's the strength of the wind that will allow us to set sail or not. In calm seas, the slightest sign (fin, back, blow) on the surface of the water is visible for miles. However, beyond a force 4 wind, it becomes difficult to make fruitful observations with the foam.

IN CASE OF BAD WEATHER

Cruise confirmation is determined by the weather forecasts issued 24 hours before departure. In the event of cancellation, registered participants will receive an email and a text message. Those who booked on our website will have the option to postpone their reservation using a postponement code or to receive a refund (except for gift vouchers) via an online request. Those who booked directly at the dock will be asked to contact us again for the postponement or to come to the dock for a refund (except for gift vouchers).

No refunds will be issued to those who do not attend the booked cruise without a valid reason. We may cancel your reservation if we receive at least 24 hours' notice. Please note that rescheduling to a later date is not automatic.

WHAT TO PLAN FOR?

Picnic, water, sunscreen, sunglasses, cap (that stays on well!), windbreaker, and sweater (especially in spring and fall). Coffee and soft drinks are available on board.

WELCOME FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

The sea cruise is accessible to people with disabilities. For those with reduced mobility, the boat can accommodate two standard wheelchairs (no motorized wheelchairs). Please note, however, that the restrooms are not wheelchair-accessible due to their narrowness.

Our friends dogs, cats, hamsters… are not allowed on board.

PRICES

• Adult : €85
• Child (ages 4 to 12 inclusive) : €60
• under 4 : strongly discouraged (long excursion without break)
  However, if you wish to register your child under 4 years old, it is mandatory to notify us in the “order note” section when making your reservation.

We do not recommend this excursion for children under 4 years old,  as it is a 6 to 7 hour outing, which may seem very long for younger children.
